I bought a xbox 360 is fairly new manufacture date of
2008 November lot number 0846x any way i was wondering is
there any way to check if it has ever had any error codes in the past
or am i safe as far as getting the rrod or the e74 error

Check your power supply, tell me what wattage it is.

It's either 203w, 175w, or 150w

We can determine likely problems by the model of the xbox board and the power supply that came with it.

*edit*
0842x is where jaspers first started to appear. If you have a 150w power supply you for sure have a jasper and that is the newest xbox mb design that's been released.
