Hello,

I have a ma790fx ud5p will this memory work (can't find a compatibility list)

**Kingston HyperX PC2-6400 4GB 2X2GB DDR2-800 CL4-4-4-12 240PIN Dual

also what does this mean for 1066 memory:

**Note: Due to AMD AM2+ CPU limitation, DDR2 1066 is only supported by 1 dimm per channel.

I believe this means that you can only use 2 sticks of PC8500 instead of 4, an interesting limitation I was unaware of.

The memory you've chosen will work, but I tend to recommend Corsair XMS2 meory for Gigabyte boards. Very rarely causes problems.

Where did you find that quote? I figured it has something to do with AM2+ supporting 4 channels, but I find nothing about it in the manual or on the company website.

...I am guessing they dissabled dual-channel mode in bios when an AM2+/AM3 chip is detected, probably to fix some stability issue they were having with cheap ram from companies like Kingston.
