Hello,

so, my friend gave me his old broken PS2 (chunky one), it kept giving him the disc read error message. I took it apart, cleaned it, and it still happaned so I had to turn the cog thingys to help the laser read, its a 50003 with 2 annoying cogs! I've been to hell and back trying to get them right, but the best I could get them is booting the games, loading the games, and playing the games for a little while then crash again (but there booting!) thats not my question though, please read on.

I have a USB HDD Caddy, so if I brought a HDD loader and a HardDrive, will that work do you think? I mean, does the HDD loader disc keep reading once you've booted your game, or does it stop once you've selected, booted and playing a game from your HDD? (Its a UK PS2 btw).
So what I'm asking is does anyone know if the disc stops reading once the game has booted? Cause if so, I'm sure I can set the cogs to read through the HDD Loader disc to the point where it can load the game.

Also, what is the best HDD loader to buy? HD Advance, HDD Loader or USBExtreme?

I may as well see if this PS2 can do it.
