Hello, I used the DVDFab to shrink a movie into a folder in my hard drive. When I tried to burn it into a blank DVD using Nero, it said that those files were too big to write. How do we solve this problem? Please help. Thank you so much.

What's the size of the folder?
Have you tried ImgBurn?

team59,
A little more information will help. Are you ripping the original DVD to a folder using DVDFab, or do you have the paid for version of Fab that will reduce the file size, and burn?

With Nero, you may need to use Recode2 to compress the file, or download DVD Shrink, if you want to reduce the file size. You may download DVDShrink here: Link

After the file is reduced in size to fit on a DVD-5 then you may burn it with Nero, or ImgBurn. Link

Thank you very much both.

1. I have not tried Imgburn (but is it that much different than Nero). I used it a while back but thought everything was pretty much the same as Nero.

2. Yes, I am ripping the original DVD to a folder using DVDFab, not the paid version (but I remember, when I was using the trial (of the paid version), it did the same thing. You know, when I start he DVDFab, there are Source & Target, I choose the DVD as source and save the target in one of the folders in my computer.

3. The DVD that I tried to copy, I borrowed from a friend. He bought it from a retail store. It looked like it has been like this lately.

4. When I tried to use Nero to burn, when I select the ripped folder, it required like 6.5 or something, which is bigger than one single disc.

5. I thought DVDShrink is out. Anyhow, I used DVDShrink before and it had this same problem. After it finished and became a folder in my hard drive, files were too big to fit in one disc. I thought this was one of the technology created to prevent the burning. In the past, I had to try to choose only the file that I wanted, or the main movie. But still, choosing was very hard because you really couldn't tell which files are which, and most of the time, once I finished burning, some of the discs couldn't be played, or the content of the movie jumping around, not in order.

Thank you so much again,

The shame is that these are easily and often (probably hundreds of times) discussed questions with solutions.

Agreed. A little research goes a long way. Especially when one decides to place his/her own foot in there mouth whilst seeking answers.
