My sister's slim PSP, that had firmware 5.00 m33-6, bricked out of nowhere the other day when she turned it off and tried to turn it back on. It was working fine before that, other than having trouble reading one UMD that may have been damaged (it was able to read any other UMD we put in). It was fully bricked, I couldn't reach the recovery menu or anything. So I used the Universal Unbricker and got it working again, but when we tried to upgrade from 3.71 m33 to 5.00 m33-6, it bricked after the upgrade finished (when it says "The PSP will now restart", it turned off then bricked when trying to turn back on). I figured maybe it was because we tried to go straight from 3.71 to 5.00, so I unbricked it again and went from 3.71 m33, to 4.01 m33, to 4.00 m33-2, and then finally to 5.00 m33. After upgrading to 5.00 m33, it wouldn't turn on so I took the battery out and put it back in, and then it turned on. It worked fine for about ten minutes. However, when my sister turned it off, and tried to turn it back in about ten minutes later, it was bricked again. The only thing she did between it upgrading to 5.00 m33 and it bricking was change the theme to that Cookie theme and set an image as a wallpaper.
So what's going on? I've been Googling all day and can't find anyone with a problem like this. Is the hardware faulty? It had been working fine for over a year.
Also thanks in advance to anyone who reads that wall-of-text and tries to help.
