Using USB Connectivity Kit V2...since I have no Sata Card

Can get Hitachi driev to show up in JungleFlasher on drop down menu when click on Hitachi tab...but nothing appears under port properties on left side...2 of my other drives are there...and two say others that I have no idea what they are. Confused. How can I send Mode-B when I can't bring up Hitachi drive info under port properties?

Not sure if this is smart but I ignored fact can't see under port properties...I dumped firmware and saved. Then clicked on "Flash iXtreme" then Flash Hacked F/W.

Now I got this error...

Loading Hitachi Dump file
Inquiry string found
Identify string found
DVD key found @ 0x4F00 key is "my key was here"
Firmware is Hitachi OSIG: HL-DT-STDVD-ROM GDR3120L0047
Firmware type is: Stock
Flashing Hacked f/w to Hitachi 0046/0047 by Mode Select Method via WIN32 API
UnLock Failed

Thoughts?

wierd! if it see's your key and knows your fw is stock you'd think its readin it ok. maybe try the "use port io" instead. then again, i cant get mine to work so maybe you shouldnt listen to me lol.

I had a different issue with jungleflasher and a v78. I could put it in modeB and dump it just fine, but it would not flash it. It gave me an error about it couldn't open the ixtreme bin file.

I ended up using Toolbox-46 to flash it. Of course, like I said I already had it in modeB and dumped the bin. So I used this method:

you can easily update the hitachi to the new firmware using 360 toolbox (im assuming its in modeb already):

1. Use Toolbox to Recover Original Firmware if you dont already have it (its under tools->Recover Original Firmware)

2. Read the tutorial that comes with the Toolbox on how to flash the original bin to the hitachi.

3. Open up original firmware, copy the key from it.

4. Open the new Xtreme 1.5.1 firmware that you want to flash (make sure its the right version for your drive) in the Toolbox.

5. Paste the key in and click save key. Also apply any spoofs you need here as well.

6. a)Choose "Tools->Direct Drive Flash->Differential Flash Patch".
b)Make sure the Hitachi drive you want to flash is selected
c)Click the "Read Drive and Detect Differences" button, after a few seconds the sectors list below the button should be populated.
d) It will now ask you if you would like to keep the keys from the drive.. Choose 'Yes' since were not changing drives
e) Click the "Start Flashing" button and choose the flash mode.. I suggest using the 0047 flasher for 47 drives etc etc..

Hitachis are always a pain for me for some reason or other. But, I always get through it somehow. :)

Not sure about the OP's problem though.

hey umm i can even get jungle flasher to start anny help plz it says application error
