possible bad disc (get a new one), possibly dirty (try cleaning)..

or encryption..

Are you using either AnyDVD or DVDFab before Shrink...? DVD Shrink is a great program, but hasn't been updated in years (and won't be in the future).. It can't handle any of the newer encryptions so you need to remove before trying to use Shrink.

Either AnyDVD (they do have a 20 day free trial) in the background (unless it shows that it found "structural protection"). If "structural protection" found, use the built-in AnyDVD ripper to get to your HDD and then "open files" (instead of DVD) and run thru Shrink.

or DVDFab HDDecrypter (free).. you will need to rip to your HDD and then process files with FixVTS or VobBlanker before running thru Shrink (DVDFab doesn't rip as cleanly as AnyDVD).

Most likely culprit is new encryption that DVD Shrink cannot handle. It was last updated in 2005 and is no longer supported, afterall...

A little bit of searching on this forum will provide you with other methods using all freeware.

I agree that most likely you're dealing with an encryption that Shrink cannot handle by itself. Time to update your process a little bit.

DvdFab HD Decrypter is a freeware ripper that is constantly updated to keep up with newer encryptions.

Then, if i were you i'd run the files through either FixVts or VobBlanker to render them a little more compliant.

Then Dvd Shrink to transcode; or even better, Dvd Rebuilder to encode the files. Then burn.

Check the top two links in my sig for a great starting point.

Hi,

it sounds like a 1bonehead special is needed here !

From 1bonehead

You have found a newer movie that shrink cannot handle.Soooooo

1) decrypt to HDD with dvdfab HD (free version) Or use paid for version
2) process files (all) with fixvts
3) shrink files with dvd shrink, output as iso/image to HDD
4) burn iso/image file with IMgburn

all programs are free

Imgburn, free from
