i have my xbox connected through my computer via crossover cable, and my wireless adapter is set for sharing internet connection, but when i try to connect to xbox live it wont even connect to the network. The first 2 little icons on the xbox network troubleshoot thing get a red X. then it says that it cant get an ip assigned.

but when i go to the xbox ip configuration it says it has an ip of like

169.254.174.24
255.255.0.0
and with no gateway

i can still get internet on my computer through this entire process but not on the xbox. what am i doing wrong?
