Ok here goes....

i bought second hand psp online to find it has CFW 3.40 oe-a and i just brought a umd game and wont start unless i have firmware 4.05 is there an easy way to retore to factory settings.

As i have absoluty no idea about up or downgrading CFW or is there an easy way upgrade to a CFW that will run the umd.

Follow the steps below to get it back to the factory settings.
1. Sell blood to the blood bank
2. use blood bank money to buy a goat
3. use the whatever money you have left from the blood bank to pay chuck Norris to train your goat to fight
4. bring goat to your near by sony store
5. tell them you bought a hacked psp and want them to reset the firmware or else the goat will attack

if that doesn't work, you can do it the hard way, download official firmware and put it in the correct folder on your psp and run the update and then go to your settings and set it back to default settings to remove the remaining junk.

I had this issue with my second hand psp it was running 3.10 oe-a check out this post http://forums.afterdawn.com/thread_view.cfm/616311
follow the steps to get to at least 3.71m33 and then you should be able to run the regular update to get back to official or it might work with that CFW, and whatever you do do not skip any needed updates or you might brick y=or you know just follow all the steps and you will be good
