Post-processing 8mm Analog Capture, Suggestions?

Hi,

I have recently acquired a Dazzle and started capturing those old 8mm cassettes. The picture quality is not that great and I would like to know if there are any tools or plugins to make it look better.

Also, the camera is sooo cheap that it records it's own mechanical noise so I have a ssshshhhhhhhhhhhh all the way through the video. Any noise reductions suggestion also?

I'm on a MacBook Pro but could be on a PC (only if really needed!) :P
