no drive key for hitachi 47

I lost all my data including the drive key and backup firmware. can i still flash to the new 1.51? where can i find a good tutorial for flashing the new firmware? do i have to restore to original firmware first or just simply do the upgrade? thanks for any help and sorry if i sound like such a noob!

hitachi's have to be restored. the drive key will be on the current firmware on the drive. just use the jungleflasher TUT.

what do I do about not having my original firmware or does that matter? if it does matter is there somewhere I can get a copy of it? again, thank you for your help

Jungleflasher will get your key then use the orignal firmware it has in the firmware pack to restore it.

cool deal. I just got the 1.51 pack with tools. first time flashing was easy. hope doing this upgrade is just as easy.

Had the same issue with my Hitatchi 46, JF does all the hard work for you ;)

There will be a Firmware folder in the Jungle Flasher directory. Put your 1.51 firmware pack in there. Once you have done that, you can restore your drive to stock firmware (you will be prompted to save you current firmware) and then you can upgrade to the 1.51 (you will be the prompted again to save you new stock firmware)

You may as well copy over the entire Hitachi pack into the firmware directory, Jungle Flasher will pick the correct file you need to restore to stock.
