I am trying to replace a hitachi 47 with a samsung m28. I can see the drive in my SATA port in my bios but I can't get it recognized with mtkflash. I also tried to use iprep to create a boot and it keeps telling me I don't have correct firmware but I do? any help in this messy situation would be appreciated.

What you will need to do is apply your dvd-key to the Samsung, and spoof it as a Hitachi 47. The best program I would use for this is Jungle Flasher. Simply load your original 47 firmware in the source, load the ms28 firmware in the target, and hit spoof. Jungle Flasher also has a flashing tab that is fairly simple to use and comes with a good guide at startup.

With the Samsung, you will need it to be in vendor mode to flash. That status is 0x70. There is a couple of ways you can do it and it is explain in the Jungle Flasher Tutorial.

Are you using the SATA on your motherboard or a VIA SATA card?
