I'm running DVD Shrink 3.2 (Vista Home). Usually things go well but now I put a disk into the drive (F) and it is seen. I get it loaded and ready to burn, but it freezes there with the light on the drive staying on.
I close everything out (sometimes have to reboot) and the next time, Shrink tells me there is no disk in the drive (it is there, same disk).
I'm thinking the problem isn't with Shrink because sometimes when I check the drive through "My Computer" it doesn't see the disk.

I found an old Iomega SuperDVD external drive and that is working but it's truly super slow, but then my computer is not near new.
I would be happy to get a new computer for as cheap as they are, but I don't know if that could help me since the problem(s) could be a conflict with some programs. Would a new cmputer help using the same three hard drives I now have?
I have ANYDVD; CLONE DVD; DVDSHRINK and the burner that comes w/VISTA (Home). I don't open more than I need but maybe something is in the background???
It's frustrating because for a long time, ANYDVA and SHRINK worked find together and I would burn with whatever came up. The only change I made recently (after problems started) was d/l FAB, and I just removed that.
I just ordered what seems a very good drive at Newegg for $23 with free delivery.

If you have AnyDVD and CloneDVD, then why are you still using DVD Shrink? DVD Shrink has not been updated and has not been supported since 2005. AnyDVD decrypts and CloneDVD compresses and burns to a 4.7GB dvd. Both applications together probably use less resources than DVD Shrink.
As long as you keep updating AnyDVD, you should have very, very few problems.
