I tried to put the BENQ in Vendor mode using the Half try method in JF but I'm not seeing any readings. If I'm correct, you can't unlock it until you see the drive being read using intro/device id button. Now I seem to have a bigger problem but I'm praying that its ok. The Drive will not eject anymore I noticed that when I did the half tray method the light started blinking so I figured I was on the right path. I ended up clueless and pushed the drive in I can't remember when it exactly stopped reacting but I know that I unplugged the power replugged the light stopped blinking I hit the eject button no reaction. What have I gotten myself into.
Just to add detail I don't know if this drive was hacked with the 1.4 or the 1.5 I did not do the original hack.
I have a VIA 6421 SATA
Didn't install I/O port using original drivers

Was the drive power cable plugged in the wrong way? That is the only way I could see how the drive would be bricked. It is hard to brick a BenQ drive, as the drive supports bad flash recovery. And since you didn't even flash anything, I don't think the drive is bricked. I take it you are using the 360 to power the drive, is there anyway you could use a connectivity kit?

I just ordered a connectivity kit on monday so I don't have one. I just wanted to make sure that there were no warning signs with that eject problem. I guess I will give it a try again and see if I can get it to respond.

Sounds to me like it's been erased. Thats what a drive does with NO FW on it. You only need to eject the tray, power down the drive, then hit Unlock BENQ, wait for the dots.... and turn the drive back on to get in vendor mode. It might take two or three tries but it will work.
Then again, don't know how you could erase it if it was never in vendor mode anyway.
Try a CK kit for power. It still may not eject but it's not about the tray, it's about the poweron/poweroff method.

I heard you don't even have to do the half tray opened trick to unlock the drive. I thought there was a setting right in JF that unlocks it for you. Thats what my modder said anyway. He did it without having to touch the drive or anythign in that matter. Just used JF all the way through with no problems.
And was able to just flash over top the 1.5 i had originally to 1.51 without having to dump keys or anything like that.

I'll try that method to unlock

Click device ID after you have selected the proper SATA port, it will prompt you to power the drive off then on within 1 second. That will unlock the BenQ for you.

Not a good sign I decided to disable the VIA drivers for the 6421 drive now the OS just freezes when I power on the 360. I even installed the I/O port still doing the same thing.

Nope have not even got to dumping anything I still trying to get it into vendor mode. I can't turn on the drive without it freezing my OS now. Before I disabled the drive I could do that just fine. I tried getting rid of a virtual drive I had up and a drive that was in the usb but its doing me no good. I'm just stuck I'm trying to search for other files that may need to be deleted along with the raid file.

alright, download iprep and make a usb thumb drive bootable with the firmware files. go to xbins and download benq unlock 0.4. put that into the root of your usb drive. boot to usb and type in "benq_un_lock PORT" and hit enter. type in your sata port where it says PORT. that should unlock your drive, then you can use iprep to dump the firmware. to run iprep once you unlock the drive, type autoexec.bat and it should run the initial program that you will see when you first boot to usb.

Do it in dos. Read up on how to make a bootdisk. You can dump and flash in dos.

That was the method I would have went with pre Jungle Flasher but I'm stuck now don't I still need to do something on windows before I can go into dos. I know the USB method but its still not going to work if my OS freezes any way it goes I still have to remedy that before I do anything else I do plan to flash a liteon too so I need to fix this.

Ok I think I got everything but I'm having trouble executing everything to work. I got the ntfs4dos I got the bootable CD. I got the BEN_Un Lock 0.4. I got Iprep 8.0 and from what I understand you can use DOS with that program. Was all this stuff going to go on a bootable usb? Where does the firmware go and can I use the JF firmware? Biggest problem is the usb itself cause I couldn't find anything bootable for usb with dos....lol I'll go look for that see if I can find it. I thought maaaybe I could put the BEN_Un Lock.04 and everything on my hdd drive until I found out Iprep will wipe my drive. Even when I booted to the dos my usb stick was not even showing up. If you know about a tutorial I could follow for all this it would help cause I've been at this all day and I'm no closer from the time I started.

You should try the 360 Modification disc 1.51
you dont have to unlock the drive or anything yourself it is all handled by the disc automattically. Get the iso from xbins burn it with imgburn and set your bios to boot to CDrom first. and the disc will guide you all the way thru it step by step. Read the guide in the disc first on how to find what your sata port number is and that is all the info you will need. when it asks for a comport and such for the lite on just hit enter without any info typed in.

Download Dosflash and use DosFlash32, I had kind of the same problem with my BenQ, wasn't even recognized by Jungleflasher. Took me the better part of a day. Then I used Dosflash32 and it was done in 5 minutes.
Xbox 360: Slim untouched with a faked 320 GB harddrive for XBL, phat with LT 3.0, played Halo early, so going on live would be an instand ban, also with a faked 320 GB harddrive
PS3: Untouched 160 GB Slim, 60 GB Fat with latest Rogero and 160 GB internal harddrive.
PSVita: hardly ever play it
GameCube: Black with a Viper chip installed. With gameboy player. Trying to get a Wavebird controller.

Ok I tried the mod disc but its still not reading the drive. When it asks me to the power off/on thing its not responding once that is done.
Should I try all of the ports or just use the first one?
To Eisherz
I was taking a look at Dosflash instructions I don't know if I'm going to be able to use the pc to power up the drive I will be getting the 360 Xtractor tommorow so I think I'll wait and continue trying with the mod disc today.

well when you looked up the sata port i guess you could note the port for both ports on the card if they are listed. just make sure you are using that port for sure when you type in the prompt. also when you turn the drive off and on again, everytime i have done this i have had to turn off and wait at least 2 seconds and lasttime i had to wait like 5 seconds before turning on again for it to read and also flash. when i turned it off and on too quickly it would either not change status or report incorrectly.
