How to copy xbox 360 games using xbox backup creator 2.8 (fresh newbie)

Hi everyone today I got lucky and found out about both xbox backup creator 2.8 and Schtrom360Xtract v3.4. I tried both programs on my pc to see if they actually worked, and they seem totally legit because everyone is saying in threads that they get them to make copies of xbox 360 games. I was wondering if there is something I was doing wrong because when I put the game in the drive, xbox backup creator 2.8 only recognized 6.48mb instead of what is supposed to be around 7.05gb.
So I was wondering if someone could please explain in great detail how to back up an xbox 360 game so I can play it on my xbox. (how to use the software and everything) I would really appreciate it!!!

P.S. I'm not a complete idiot at computers, I keep up pretty well, its just this part of burning and copying 360 games is very new and foreign to me.

regular pc drives can not recognize the disk structure only the video portion which is 6.48mb. in order to rip games to pc you either have to unlock an xbox drive with an activation disk or use one of a few pc drives capable of being flashed with kreon firmware.
