I've seen tutorials where users swap out the original psx games at the original loader screen, put in slide card, pull out original psx game, and put in the backed up game, lock the tray and play the game.

Now I have done the same with my PSX backup, and it just hangs on the PS1 screen. What gives?

1) Does CD-R brand type matter possibly?
2) What speed should I burn the psx image on to the cd-r? I think I used 24x on a 52x cd. Is that too fast?
