I've read a ton of guides and cannot find specific instructions for what I am trying to accomplish. Here is the situation...
I have a working Xbox 360 with a broken SAMSUNG MS28 drive. The internal components are messed up because the previous owned had a disc stuck in it and he forced it open. I have a HITACHI 59 that is working and I would like to put it in place of the SAMSUNG. These are the steps I need help with...
How do I extract the key from the Samsung? I have no experience with these drives. I don't have a VIA SATA but I have access to Intel ICH6 and NFORCE4 SATA. Will any of these work for extracting the key?
The second step is how do I inject this key into the HITACHI and spoof the Hitachi to appear as a SAMSUNG drive? I have searched and searched but I just get bits and pieces of information and nothing specific to my situation. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I am in JungleFlasher. I have installed the IO drivers and this is what I am getting under the MTKFlash tab...
0x0170
VENDOR - BENQ
DEVICE - DVD DC DQ60
F/W 1.0b
RESERVED - Feb 7 2006
The outside of the drive clearly states MS25. Am I doing something wrong here? Please advise.

Change to a different SATA port, JF is probably seeing your DVD drive in your computer. Once you have extracted the samsung firmware, load that in the source under the firmware tool 32 tab. Do not autoload the samsung firmware. Instead either load ix1.51 for Hitachi or original Hitachi 59 firmware, and click spoof source to target.
As for flashing, I haven't used JF to flash a Hitachi so you might want to consult the tutorial provided with JF.

Personally I haven't ever had any luck with my ICH7 chipset. I know I have read where people disable and changed stuff in BIOS to get it to work. I have always just used a VIA card because I don't have to change anything. Your best shot is with the NFORCE4 SATA.
Is the 0x0170 on the ICH6?

Yeah, it's SATA port 2. SATA port 1 is identified as my HDD in Jungleflasher.

Ok. I have extracted the key from the SAMSUNG no problems. How do I inject this key into the Hitachi drive and spoof it as a Samsung?

Load the original Samsung firmware in the Source in Jungle Flasher. Next load the ix 1.51 for your Hitachi version in the target. Click spoof, save the file, and then flash with JF.
