Hey guys,
I was wondering if anyone could briefly explain to me:
1. What exactly are the OFW(Original Firmware) drive keys?
2. How can I verify mine are intact and correct? (from the usb I used to flash)
3. Can I make copies of the drive key file?
4. What do I need to consider when upgrading from 1.4.1 to 1.5.1 in regards to my OFW drive key?
The 360 creates a string of hex numbers for security. And those hex numbers are the DVD-key. The DVD-key in the firmware must match the stored hex number in the NAND flash. If it doesn't, the drive will only play dvds.
If you have a bunch of number between 0-9 and A-F, you have a valid key. If isn't valid it is usually a bunch of 0's.
You can make a copy of your original firmware that has your dvd key imbedded.

First off thank you for your response, that clears it up a bit.
Now can I verify those numbers in the backup folder created by iPrep on the USB I used? Because I also read something along the lines of using firmtool to verify working dvd drive keys. Which do you recommend?
