I have a mod chip on xbox, i wanted to know is it possible to remove the mod chip. If i can, how?

in either case you would have to be good at soldering to remove it without damaging the board. that would be the main concern. It might be easier to leave it on the board but disable it somehow, i dont know of thats possible but it may also require soldering i would imagine to disconnect some contacts or something to cause it to be non functional but without the fear of damaging the board thru total removal of the chip.

i should have specified, it is a xbox 360. i wasnt the one to soldier the chip, and dont actually know any about soldier, just taking a soldiering it off doesnt seem right, maybe ill have to bring it to someone to do it. I would like to get the chip off, or disable it so that i can do a softmod instead
