For unknown reason my modded ps2 can't play any burned games that I copied from the originals that I have anymore. It was still working about 3 weeks ago but now it's not. Though, my ps2 is still able to play all the originals of both Europe and Japan region. The reason that I copy all the originals that I own and use the burn ones is because I don't wanna take risks of scratching the original ps2 dvd. Anyone know what happen to my ps2? if you know what happen, and/or how to solve it please tell me.

Something you guys might need to know:
-This ps2 is a fat ps2 (I don't know what is its version exactly)
-I didn't mod the ps2 by myself, I hired someone to mod it (no idea what kind of mod did he install to my ps2)
-Those games that I burned are in DVD+R (note that my ps2 was working with these DVD+R just fine until I found out that it couldn't play anymore today)
-When I put these burned games in, the tv screen turn black like it's going to work but the screen suddenly turn to memory card screen for like 2-3 secs. Then the screen change to "please insert ps2 disc format)
-the mod is still working, I think, since my ps2 is originally from US but I modded it, so it can play games from Japan region and burned games as well. Now, only the burned games don't work, the others work fine
-This never happens to my ps2 before

your lens might be dirty clean it with a q-tip and alcohol!

what kind of dvd-r's did u use? is it sony or virbatim?

poor quality dvd-r's might lessen your lens life span...

It is too hard for the lens!

Thanks for the reply!

I just checked, my burned games are all TDK(?) DVD+R.

About cleaning my ps2 lens, will be able to find how exactly to clean it in the tutorial guide compilation that is on the sticky thread?

Edit: if it is dirty, why can it still read the original ones? and only affect back up ones?
