Hi all, Can someone point me in the right direction for help on flashing my 360 drive, It is a TS-h943(ms28), it has been flashed for about 2 years with i believe 1.2i extreme, i do not have the original f/w as i sent the 360 away to get it done.
With the new wave 3 games coming out i would like to update my xbox's f/w(i have three , all flashed, all with no original f/w, sammy, benq,Hitachi LG)
I have looked at so many different threads and posts my head is spinning.
I have just ordered a SATA VIA VT6421A PCI PC Raid Card.
I was hoping to upgrade to 1.51i, but i have now lost my way after reading so much stuff, do i use IPREP or Jungle Flasher or any number of the other ways, can the drive be flashed at all with no original f/w
I am quite comfortable taking the 360 apart and getting it done just need to know the best way, any help will be GREATLY received :)

Well, I could be wrong. But I think since all your drives are CFW already, you should be good to go with just using Jungle flasher 1.5.1. To my understanding flashing to 1.5.1 with JF is pretty easy as long as your FW isn't 1.5, if it is 1.5 then you have to do the half open disc tray trick or use a Connectivity kit. Since your at like 1.2, you just connect the xbox your sata card with the pc on and follow the steps of the tutorial.
That's my two cents, maybe a vet will shed more light or correct me.
Good luck!

So it does not matter that I don't have the original f/w?, nice:)

I think the BENQ drive may be flashed with 1.5 as it was done not so long ago, is the half open tray do-able for a noob like myself?

The Hitachi I am not sure as i got it off a friend for me to fix his rrod, is there a way of checking the firmware version before starting the flash?

So I should roll with Jungle Flasher

These are questions i've had myself,
1.I dont think it does matter you don't have the OFW, every tutorial i've read indicates its important to have, but isn't required in the flashing process.
2.I'm not really sure about the half open tray trick, it's stated in the JF Tutorial, and to be honest sounds kinda difficult. I would order a Connectivity Kit if I were you. (Google CK3?)
3.I'm not sure how to check the FW honestly, I checked in the system information on the XBOX360 dashboard after I flashed mine and didn't see anything even close to ixtreme 1.4.

So...hopefully an afterdawn vet will come and answer these questions....

1) With jungle Flasher you can restore your drive to its original firmware, if you download the 1.51 pack it the firmware for your drive is in there. You need to downgrade to stock firmware then upgrade back to iExtreme

2) Dont know sorry

3) When Jungle Flasher reads your drive firmware, it tells you what version it is.

Hope this helps.

half open tray status was something that was written into 1.5 to unlock drives. manually eject the tray, pull out all the way, push in half way( or a bit more) and power on the drive

The VCC method is also an easy one to unlock the drive. Make sure you have your proper SATA port selected and click Device ID / Intro. JF will prompt you to power cycle the drive within 1 second, and once you have done that, the flash chip properties should be displayed.

I have opened xbins and found ixtreme 1.51, but I can not see any mention of stock firmware, is there any where else i could find the stock firmware for my drives or did i look in the wrong place(xbins/hacked firmware)

Mike Restoring to original is only for the Hitachi. Benq's can simply be overwritten. You do not need your original firmware as long as you currently have a working xbox. The necessary component is the drive keys which would be contained in any working firmware for that drive. Just read the drive, load the new 1.51 firmware and write.

As far as getting it in vendor mode just push intro turn power off to drive push yes turn power immediately back on. should then show vendor mode.

Ok this sounds do-able, the pci card should be with me tomoz, so i guess i shall bite the bullet and attempt to flash the sammy first with jungle flasher by over writing whatever the firmware may be
I will know doubt be back here with a bricked drive asking for more help, cheers guys :)
