Hi i ordered a refurbished hitachi dvd v47 drive which is identical to my currecnt one, the new one is one month newer.

I was getting the white screen when putting some games in, halo3 pgr4, it comes up saying please put this in a xbox 360.

i copied the firmware off my old drive and got the key, then flashed the key on the new drive using firmware toolbox. i hooked it all back up with the new drive and it wont play any games they all go into dvd mode?

I also tried updating the firmware to ixtreme 1.5 usuing jungle, i never got any errors, when i dump the firmware it has the updated key on it. Still no joy

Do you think they could of sent me a dodgy drive? What does a bricked drive mean this drive still works it reads dvd's they should accept it back shouldnt they?

Hmm Ive never had that problem....If you are 100% positive you have done everything correctly with flashing the new firmware and replacing your key...Then I'd say something is wrong with the dvd drive

try this to eliminate a bad flash possibility on your new drive....

take the pcb out of the old drive and put it in the new drive, reinstall drive and try it out.
