Updating wii firmware from 3.2U to 3.4U

I , by mistake, downgraded my wii from 3.4u to 3.2u. I recently bought animal crossing:cf and it says that i have to upgrade to play this game. Is it safe for me to upgrade even if i have the homebrew channel? i read on other sites that if i update, it will brick my wii. otherwise, is there any other way that i can update it if there is a rick to update it

Hello,
Updating WILL NOT brick your wii, and I have recently learned that it is the safest way to actually udpate.But updating WILL affect certain hombrew applications and exploits that will need to be patched to get them working again. go here

I will say again UPDATING is COMPLETLY safe. You do not have to delete HBC but you will need to perform the "wii fix" if you want certain exploits and hombrew apps to work.

He might not even have to do the wii fix. Animal crossing only contains 3.3. I dont know if its the second 3.3 version or not, but if it isnt it wont effect homebrew at all. If it is the second 3.3 version then he will need to do the wii fix.

It is the second 3.3 update. But if you manually install IOS38-64-v3609.WAD and then BrickBlock the game disc it should boot fine without updating your system.

IOS38-64-v3609.WAD is for WiiSpeak hardware.
