Modchipped Wii Does Not Support Homebrew?

Hi, I have a Wii modded with the D2pro9 v3 modchip. All that I can tell the modchip does is load backups; it does not seem to support homebrew at all if I put it on an SD card. I read about the Homebrew Channel but it seems that I can't use the ISO installer on my Wii as the firmware version is too high (my Wii firmware is 3.4U) So, what would you suggest? I have also read about actually downgrading the Wii firmware to 3.2 but it seems dangerous and I don't even know if that is what I have to do in order to get it to do what I want; in other words I don't really know what I'm doing here. Please help.

Ok, first off: loading backup games is all ANY modchip does. They dont have built-in homebrew function.

Secondly, you need the twilight hack to install the homebrew channel. Downgrading is not required. This is a guide to installing the homebrew channel and homebrew backup loader http://forums.afterdawn.com/thread_view.cfm/735325
You dont need the backup loader since you already have a modchip, just follow the part about homebrew channel installation.

I read up on the twilight hack, and it said it requires an official version of Twilight Princess, so a backup copy absolutely would not work even though I can already boot it with my modchip?

A backup copy will work fine. Alot of guides on the topic are written for people who want to install the backup loader on unmodded wii's. In that case you do need an original game. Since your wii is modded you can use a backup copy.
