Hi Guys,

I am having severe difficulty trying to fit a 1080p movie onto a Dual Layer disk burned as data in PS3 format.

Basically I have 2 movies on my PC which are 1080p Matroska files and both sized at exactly 7.94gb which will fit on a DL dvd no problem.

The issue I have is when I use MKV2VOB to convert them to PS3 format the converted output file is 8.16gb and I cannot fit it on a DL disc.

Does anyone know how I can fit it on a DL disc and still be able to read it on my PS3?

Is there a way to prehaps lower the quality a bit or is there some program that will automatically size the output file to what you want?

Thank You

Ok, well I've manged to make quite a bit of progress, but now I have an issue with sound.

I converted the mkv file to AVCHD - disc, transcoded at x264, the output file was 25gb.

I then used BD Rebuilder v2.20.03 beta, to rebuild the movie, and compress to 7.4gb to I could burn to a DL -9 dvd.

This worked great although it did take 14 hours to rebuild, but hey, beggers can't be chosers.

The last step I done, was burned it using imgburn to create a UDF 2.5 disc.

I have inderted it into my PS3, and it loaded perfectly, the video quality was almost identiacl to that of a Blu-Ray amazing - only problem was there was no sound?

When I go to sound settings it just states '1 unknown' on the ps3?

Does anyone know how I can change the sound before burning, or check to see what sound is encoded.

I am so close yet still feel so far away...

Did you have synched sound after each step? ie. after generating the 25GB file from AVCHD? And after using ReBuilder? if so, I don't know, as I've never used any of the programmes & I don't use consoles.

If there is an issue after using Rebuilder, you may want to check here as the author is one of the mods.

Finally, if each step has shown a correct, working media file, I would assume the issue lies with the burning; not sure how or why. Try another programme and/or another DVD disc brand. Also the imageburn forum
