ok i know this is not the place to post this but i cannt find anyother forum to do this.

my question is simple. how do u use inkjet printer to print on a printable dvd?

my major concern is how the hell the printer gonna take in the dvd and print on it. unless i am missing something really big i am sure its sounds a little impossible for me.

The "DVD Media" forum would have been a better fit :)

For the printable discs you need an inkjet made to accept the discs. They will print paper as well as use a tray to print discs. Both Canon and Epson have models that do this.

From a personal point of view soban. I not having a dig here!! \it's easier just to print to dvd adhesive labels and attached to the disc using cd stomper etc.. It's also a hell of alot cheaper too. The dvdr printables are expensive.
I also thought the same as you at first and bought a epson photo 900. Crap print quality and expensive only because of the direct cd printing facility.
My epson c42 sylus prints just as well on to cd labels.

Maybe you should have a read through the following thread about labels on DVDs:

The general consensus is - labels on DVDs are a no-no..

martynste: you have either been lucky so far, or you are following almost exactly the same procedure I do with respect to labels.

You are one of the VERY FEW here who have had success with labels.

please explain more drchips. Have people had problems with the adhesive or dvd playback after attaching the label. I must admit I've only been labeling my dvds for a couple of months it doesn't seem to cause a problem.
