3.40 to custom firmware.. have i got this right?

Just replaced my psp, it has 3.40 official firmware on it(fat psp). With my old psp it originally had 3.03 which i could downgrade using LCS.

However now what I need to do is....
Purchase a Datel Tool battery.
Make a magic memory stick.

Then basically put them both in the PSP at the same time, and choose the custom firmware I want installed? Do I still have to downgrade to 1.50 first like in the old days?

Most memory stick apps can take you directly to the custom firmware so no you won't need to downgrade to 1.50 first. If you're on 3.40 you can also use Lumines to downgrade, much like you did with the GTA UMD.
