Burn at whatever speed you want. If one speed causes problems then change it.

Burned at 4x here with no issue (P4 2.8 2GB RAM), wouldn't go to 8x with my spec but if you have a better PC its work a try. You can always try a few and verify the disk afterward to see if it has written properly.

I hope this helps

40 minutes is the amount of time it would take you to drive to the store, ACTUALLY PURCHASE THE GAME, and drive home. just show some patience.

It most definitely can make a difference, and often a positive one. I use Verbatim 8X discs and burning at 8X gives fewer PIEs and PIFs than burning at 4X or 6X (the other supported speeds). It really depends on the media, the burner, and the burner's firmware/write strategies. You can use programs like Nero CD-DVD Speed or DVDInfoPro to scan for errors, so you can find the sweet spot for the particular media you're using.

personally I burn at 4x with both 8x Verbatims and 8x Ridata. Sony usb burner using ImgBurn. Never any coasters if I leave the pc alone while burning. If while burning I unzip a 7gig iso or abgx check 3 or 4 iso's at the same time then it definetly becomes a coaster. Seems like if the buffer in ImgBurn depletes then the burn fails. By the way, going from 2x to 4x does not cut the burn time in half, at least not for me. Takes 25 mins at 2.4x and 22 mins at 4x, approximately. Lastly I find that the BenQ and the Liteon will read just about any media I throw at it while the Sammy's are partial to Verbatim.

Goodluck!
