I had my PSP connected to my computer this morning to transfer some new songs to it. The Battery was (and still is) full at the time I connected it. I put the songs on and disconnected my PSP. I didn't turn it back on to listen to them until I dropped it. The fall was about 8 inches. Now the part that gets me. When I try to start it the green power light and the memory stick light come on, but the screen stays black. However, when the memory stick is not inserted it comes on and can even play UMD's (I tried Dynasty Warriors). Add to it, the stick still works. All my friends PSP's can still access the files.
I do have some type of firmware on it, it was installed last week and was running perfectly, last time i played was light night. I got my friend to do it, I'll post what type is was later. Any ideas?

i would try formatting the memory stick, you may have to start the psp without it and goto the recovery menu when starting up the psp hold R or if you can get into the xmb/vsh you can put the stick in after and either format with psp or from usb mode through recovery menu and your pc.
also you should format and reset your settings in the recovery menu under advanced but it is likely that the 8 inch drop is causing some hardware problems with the memory stick slot that any software solution can't fix.
