ok after making my backup. I have kids so my games get scratched up so i make backups as stated in my game ULA. OK first i use image burn as i have read that is the best one for 360 iso's. So then i got verbatim DVD+DL disks i was told those are the best. I made sure my dvd drive was DL it was. open image burn browsed to the .DVD file that had the info for the ISO in the same folder. And got four coasters. So I thought at worst it may be my DVD drive went and and bought a new one. tried the last verbatim disk with the new drive coaster. Ok so after that i went and bought some cheap dymonex disks and they work fine. Why is this?

Updated all drivers
updated firmware in dvd drive.
AMD 780gm-a ecs mobo
2 gigs ram 500 gig drives

Well I don't know what you're doing, but I would choose verbatims over memorex every time.

I personally only use verbatims

ok i can use verbatims only if burned from another machine then they are fine. My PC can only burn dynomex or whatever they are called. So it has to be something in my Computer that is causeing this. Right ? If so what can i do that i havn't done already?

It looks you need dvd+dl dics. Go buy the verbatim brand (they are really good, and what majority of us use to backup games on). Also here is a tutorial on how to use imgburn if any problems occur when trying to play the backups: http://forums.xbox-scene.com/index.php?showtopic=516786

Sorry guys i meant to say dvd+dl they are the right disks. I got that part down. And i know this cause a buddy can burn me 360 media on verbatim just fine but when i burn via my pc they come out coasters. but then i burn with cheap dymonex media they are fine. thats the issue. Tell me why this is my Digital borthers and sisters. And oh yes image burn reads no errors in the log.

Some burners are not as good as others. i know it sucks but just like any other product out there you have some that are good and some that are not so good in the performance dept. Or maybe it is simply defective. If you are doing everything correctly and have gotten it to work on a different computer then it shouldnt be a matter of the wrong steps being taken.

Nope I went and bought a new DL burner. Same results. So what in my rig could cause only one brand of media to burn a good DVD ?

i would think something like that would be more of a software related issue. but tracking something like that down could be near impossible. If all else fails backup your files and reimage and run windows update for all newest update and then try again. i know thats a lot of trouble to go to but with problems like that its hard to pinpoint the cause. If it was hardware related that would require swapping out parts and seeing if it makes a difference, and unless you have extra stuff laying around that isnt a viable option. I would do some searching on google and maybe if you are lucky find a solution. If you have a brandname computer like a dell or Hp i would start with a search of your model type and known issues related to burning and see if someone has had the same issue.
