I wanted update my firmware and the tutorial says that you need the bootable media that was used the last time. I do have the iprep folder with the hack.bin and org.bin, other than that I do not have the bootable. What should I do? Should just create another new bootable media?

Check the Jungle Flasher. The only drive you have to restore to original firmware and then flash is the Hitachi. You can make your custom firmware with your dvd-key, and then put that onto the bootable media so you can flash. I would recommend dosflash 1.7.
