Help fixing Chrono Trigger freezing on m33 5.01-3

I just got this game and really want to play it! Every time I try to fight the second boss (Birdman) it freezes when I kill the boss. I started a search and found several threads about this. They suggested renaming the file ID to various "POPs codes". I tried all of the codes with "PsGUI226beta". The game still froze. I am a complete noob when it comes to emulating psx games so please be very specific. If it helps I used DC8 to hack my PSP and have no idea what version of POPs I have.

I found an article about this. Would upgrading to m33 5.01-6 and installing the latest pops loader plugin help? In know how do upgrade to 5.01-6. BUT could you please tell me (or link me to) how to install the newest pops loader plugin.(I tried to find one, but they all confused me....)

I cant quite remember where I found it but somewhere on this site there is a link to a page with a list of games and which POPS work with what games. I would look for that and see if your game is in there. Then yes install the latest popsloader, go into your recovery menu and make sure popsloader.prx is enabled in your plugins. After that when starting your game hold "R" and it will give you a list of POPS to choose from and pick the one suggested in the page aformentioned and should be good.

however you can find popsloader with all the pops already in them and you can bypass the psar dump section of this guide. I believe shaggyZE has the popsloader you want in his sig.
