I had something odd happen to me today. At least I think it was odd.

I updated my 3.3 ver1 Wii today to 3.4 firmware. I have never installed the OCT23rd or 3.4 fix to this system at all.

The odd thing about it is all my WAD/cIOS/mIOS still installed perfectly fine after I had updated to 3.4U firmware.

The steps I performed are below.

I uninstalled all the channels I had manually installed via WAD manager. Then I updated to 3.4U firmware. Before doing any of the OCT23rd/3.4 fix (wich I thought I would have to do) I wanted to see if my WAD files would still install.

So I did a few VC games and they still installed. I then ran cIOS36_rev8 and mIOS-rev3 and they both installed perfectly fine. I then installed the Wiigator 0.3 backup launcher gamma channel WAD and that installed. I then tested both Wii and GameCube games and they all boot perfectly fine.

To me this is strange. Anyone else have a comment on it?
