OK, so I have a PSP 2001 with 4.05 firmware. I have read many tutorials, have done the Pandora battery mod by opening the battery and scratching the one connection, have done the MMS stick but every time I try t run something from the memory menu I get this error:

"The game could not be started"

I followed the instructions on the "create pandora battery + mms using official/1.50/cfw psp" guide here but to no avail. Need help please. What am I doing wrong? Is it the fimware? Could it be that I have that new MoBO and don't know it? What can I do?

Help please.

Psp 2001 are psp slim, not fat. You cant mod those batteries. unless you bought your psp in the year 2001, that's a different story. The question you would have to ask yourself is if you got the psp 2001 with 4.01 or higher out of the box? If so, those psp most likely have the un-modifiable motherboards.
What you can do is, go buy a used psp that is capable of being hacking. Then hack it.

This PSP was bought used. I saw several videos that said the slim battery could be modified so now your comment has me confused. I thought this one could be hacked. It is not a 3000 PSP.

Well it would seem you have either an unhackable battery or unhackable psp mobo. I think it's the first one though since the psp is used. Also you might not have made the battery properly so you could try that too.

Yes it would either bring you to a black screen with no magic memory stick or service mode with a magic memory stick if you did it correctly.
