confused with a jungle flasher step, help plz.

so trying to flash my 360 and the tutorial im using tells me to create a Activate.iso and then just put it in 360 and let it run for 30 secs. so...
1. what is Activate.iso? it doesnt really explain what it is or i dont get it.
2. how am i suppose to put it in and run it? when i put it in vendor mode it wont open or close. have read something about manually opening it but what that gonna do? i mean how is it gonna know there is a disk in it?
3. do i need to do this step? seen some other tutorials on youtube and none of the ones i have seen mentioned and Activate.iso or at least that a i remember.
I dont care if you care about my spelling and or grammar. I also dont care if you dont care that i dont care that you care about my spelling and or grammar.

if you can get the drive in vendor mode already then you dont need the disk because that's what it does. The activate.iso is in JF above sammy and benq unlock. Burn this to a dual layer disk.

ok im still confused. can i get a link to a tutorial on jungle flasher because maybe the one i got of this site using search isnt so good. because it has me put my samsung drive into vendor mode before i put the disk it.
so what do i do after i put the drive in vendor mode?

jungleflasher has a tutorial built in. Go to the firmware tool tab there is a link that says user guide just click on it.

1) its the disc that allows an already modded samsung drive to be re-modded.
2) click on the mtkflash tab, top right corner of that screen theres a button to click for activate.iso, it opens up an internet browser, download the file, burn it to a dual layer disc.
start up the 360 with the drive connected to the PC, insert disc into 360 drive, wait 30 seconds, start JF up.
go back to MTKflash tab, make sure your drive is selected from the drop down box, hit device intro, read the FW, then write the hacked FW. then hit the outro button.
3) yes you need this step unless you are trying to hack a stock sammy drive. then you can just use the sammy unlock button.
oh and by the way, the built in guide explained all this stuff VERY well, it even told you how to get the activate.iso as well and what to do with it.

nice explanation wabashman. I just use the Intro off/on method never had to use the 0800. I did however have to instruct someone to use it when helping someone over internet. So I suggest just using the Intro off/on method first and if that doesn't work then try activate.iso
Again both these methods are in the Jungleflasher tut. please read it then post if your have more problems

i thought about the intro on/off, but was like well i do have the activate disc right here....this will be easier one thinks. and it was, had the console apart and flashed in reassembled in under 5 minutes.

ya it is probably easier if powering with xbox. I use a 360Xtractor Pro v1.2 (PPTC Fuse). So the off/on method is actually easier for me and didnt have to use up a DL.

so im still at work but wondering what is this of/off method? dont need detail explanation just wondering.
also is anything else i need to do thats special because im replacing my samsung drive with another samsung i just got off of ebay. i think all i have to do is read it then replace the key with the key from my original drive then write to it yes?

the method they were discussing ( i think) was sending an intro to the drive expecting that it will fail and Jungle Flasher will propt you to send again but you must power cycle the drive. So when the popup prompt shows up, power off the drive, then click yes, wait for a couple of dots to show up in the log window then power the drive on. Voila... flashchip status!!!!
check your new sammy vs. your old for MS28 or ms25. If old is 25 and new is 28 then once read you have to spoof.

Correct but if they are the same you can just switch the boards but make sure to mark new/old with a marker so to not get them confused.

so im going from 28 to 28 and i cant swap boards because its the board that broke on old drive. so do i understand this right...
all i do is read the drive take that file and use this "360 toolbox" and paste over the key off new drive with key off old drive then go back to jungle flasher and write and i should be good yes?

what broke on the board?
in my experience the method above works in JF with a completely assembled and healthy drive. things might be different if you are just using the pcb board. I have gotten a successful read/flash on just a board in dos, without the rest of the drive. Just fyi.

ya depending on what is broken you may not be able to get your key. If the pcb board is junk you cannot get the key and then cannot replace the drive.

no i already have the key, and got done flashing it last night works great. had a problem with my firmware though. it says in the guide to make sure it not all FFs/00s/77s in the key for firmware when you load it. but no mater what i did it wouldn't work. would get all 77s, 00s or FFs. all i did is clicked manual spoof i think it was and put in key from my original drive. not sure if this is what i was SUPPOSE to do as a thread i made about it someone told me it was corrupt file and to try it on someone else machine but me manually changing it seems to have worked just fine.

the new firmware will have all 77's or 00's until you spoof it from your original firmware. You know your key is right is you put the drive in the box and it pays a game without the key it wont play any games.
