Question : i had a L.G.HDMI DVD Player and a new Samsung HD TV.The picture quality was Excellent .But i heard that the picture and sound quality out of the Blu-Ray player was something else all together.
i bought a blu ray player a week ago and i have to say the picture is NOT better that my old DVD Player..

My Question is...Do i have to get a FULL HD TV to see the different..

You'll need a Full 1080p set. Chances are your TV right now is only 480p (just a guess) But it also depends on the size of your TV theirs almost no point in Blu-ray if the TV is under 40" (personal opinion).

For sound your receiver would need HDMI input and the capabilities to play the new sound formats (don't remember off hand which they are).

Thats all i need ,i have a 32" HD TV .i was thinking of getting a 32" full HD .WHY...? would this size not work ,The DVD Player i had was very clear but surely if i got a FULL HD the size ( those it really make a differents )with the Bul- Ray Player......!

Most people say that they don't notice the difference of DVD vs Blu-ray on smaller TVs. I haven't seen the picture difference on a smaller TV yet. I have a 52" 1080p and the Blu-ray is noticeably better. It's better because the 1080p expands the image to better fit larger TV's.

If I had a 150" TV then Blu-ray would be considered DVD in the quality it'll be able to give off. (Guessed estimates)

You don't "need" Full 1080p, but if you can, get it. My brother has a Sharp LC46D85U 1080p with a Toshiba XDE, and I have an older rear projection 50" Panasonic 1080i LCD with a Sony BDPS550, and the picture on the BDP is crystal clear as compared to his.

It all comes down to if YOU like it. Only two people in my family say they don't notice much difference, and both of them wear glasses all day. I only wear reading glasses and I still notice a hugh difference. Before I took my glasses off when watching DVD's because they looked like crap. Now I put my glasses on when watching Blu-ray. Even with my glasses off I still notice a difference.

If you rather have an upconverter, I would still go with a blu-ray player even if you?re not planning on buying BD's yet. I found the Sony BDPS550 to upconvert DVD's much better than for instance the Toshiba XDE. I've always been told that the Oppo line has the best upconverter's but they are expensive and I've never seen them in action, but is always better to down-convert than up-convert.

Also can I ask what blu-ray player you got?
