Hey guys, thought I'd start a thread on this game seeing as how alot of people have been wanting Metallica in a music game.
A lil history on my plastic guitar experience.
I never played GH1 on the ps2. When I did eventually play it, I used the controller. GH2 came out on the 360 and I bought it and learned guitar. I never played anything higher than Hard on it. GH3, RB1 & now my home of Rock Band 2 has gotten my skills up to expert.
I absolutely love GH2 and Rock Band 1 & 2 on expert guitar but GH3 is overcharted on expert (IMO) and I literally threw GH:WT out the front door to never be seen again. I really wanted Metallica to be RB DLC but we get an Activision developed version. Needless to say, hopes were not high for expert to be charted correctly.
My impressions of GH : Metallica are simple. This game is simply awesome. If you are a Metallica fan that plays these games, pick this one up. The Metallifacts is one of the most awesome things of recent video game history. You see the band playing the songs while reading interesting facts about the song, it's place in Metallica's history, ect... Pretty neat if you ask me. You also get the song lyrics and details about that particular song.
Now the graphics are as usual GH cartoon quality but everything looks nicer. The venues are pretty cool. So far, I've only unlocked the 3rd tier but it's better laid out. It's more like a GH3/RB1 mesh where you have to earn starts to unlock the next tier.
The charts on expert guitar are ALOT better than what I expected. Some songs feel like you have a stum in the wrong place of a series of hammer-ons but the timing window is the same as GH:WT, but on the whole I love it.
I plan on picking up my retail copy on the 29th. Just to give you an idea of how many games I actually end up buying... Before RE5, the last game I bought was Rock Band 2.
man i love this game,from playing the 1st song to the encore was like WOW,fireworks,lights etc,im glad neversoft got everything like the real concerts!
I think this game is Sweet also.I have been playing it on hard and expert on the drums.Did you see that there is a Expert plus on the Metallica songs for Drums.It's really hard to do, double footing stomps with rock band 2 gear,Never tried the GHWT Drums.
