I have a buddy who played Guitar hero Metallica and got an achievement today. He thinks he will be banned due to this. This true? He played with the cat5 unplugged. Not sure if it date stamps the achievement or not. Clues?

Even if achievements are date stamped offline, they can't use that date to ban you because when your 360 isn't plugged into Live, you set the date and time manually. If you power off your 360 at the plug, then turn it back on again, the year goes back to 2005. If you forgot to set the date, you'd have achievements with date stamps of 2005.
That's not to say that he won't be banned of course, cos nobody really knows exactly how MS detect modded consoles.

Well dummy just told me he did have his cat5 plugged in, but says he has done this before. Not something I would risk taking a chance on.

Yeah, to minimise the risk with backups, you should verify them all with abgx360 (not just the stealth check - verify them too) and not play them before the release date. I must admit, I've been pretty sloppy when it comes to doing that, but I've managed to avoid 3 ban waves so far. I expect to get banned at some point though.

I have no idea how I managed to avoid them. When my 360 was first modded, I didn't know about programs like Mulleter (abgx360 didn't exist then) so I was just burning backups and playing them. I've played a lot of bad rips online. I've just been lucky, although I'm more careful now of course.

The way I look at it is, it will probably happen to me eventually. It's better to expect the worst, and just enjoy playing online while you can. That way you won't be so pissed off if/when you get banned. I don't wanna be one of those "I just got banned. I hate Microsoft! I'll never buy one of their products again!!!" guys. lol. I accept that it's my own fault if I get banned.

Seems pretty unlikely more now with the new apps and taking the proper steps.

Pirates.... ARR
But yeah anyway homesick is right, not like it matters though. You'll get banned sooner or later but, consoles are so cheap it shouldn't even be an issue.

Yeah really it is, and you actually pay $200 for just a system?
You can pick up a rrod system for about 50 dollars and fix it with about maybe 4 dollars in parts... well 4 dollars and 4 cents. So you're telling me that you'd rather complain about getting banned than spending 50 dollars and having another working completely legit console?
You can use the 203w power brick for any version of the 360 so it really shouldn't be an issue. Even if you need a power brick it's still under 100 dollars for both the xbox and power brick.
I mean i realize people can't afford to pay for the games, but if you play on live you should have a legit copy and a legit console.
I think if you flash your console you should pick up another one to play on live with because you know you'll eventually get banned.

The console is banned, not the xbl account and you can get them on ebay or craistlist. You can also buy refurbished ones for pretty cheap if you want.

Seems to be fixes for all the errors. What is a black screen and no rrod?

Either gpu issue, av cord failure or a power brick issue.
-Gpu would need the xclamp replacement and overheating
-Av cord plug needs to be cleaned or cord needs to be replaced
-Power brick stays yellow but xbox looks like it turns on with no picture (replace the power brick)
