Hey guys i got a question.....I hacked my Wii with the instructions below and now I am trying to dump wii games onto my computer over the wireless network but Im having a problem.....I have check out many tutorials and alot of them are out dated or are for firmware 3.2. I am currently running 3.4U and I would like for someone to please help me. Last time i tried installing the whttpd i got the app to work but then when i tried loading backup games from wiigator it gave me an error. So someone please help..... I know this thread will help many others as well that are on 3.4 and cant figure out how to get wii dump to work over the wireless network......Thanks a bunch. And remember "May the force be with you"

Things Needed:
*Nintendo Wii Console
*Update your Wii to the lastes firmware (3.4)
*2 Gig SD Card
*Zelda Twilight Princess Game (Original)
*IOS16-64-v257-prod.wad (Google it, you?ll find it in LimeWire)
*Bundle Package of: Wii Fix Tools.zip (dl049.filefactory.com)
Twilight-hack-v0[1].1beta2.zip
The-homebrew-channel-1[1].0.1.tar.gz
Boot.dol

Part 1 - Installing The HomeBrew Channel

Step 1: Delete the current ?Zelda Twilight Princess? Save on the Wii (only if you have played it before on your wii, if not then don?t worry about it)

Step 2: Go into Wii Options --> Data Management --> Save Data --> Wii.

Step 3: Copy the corresponding "Twilight Hack" Save that matches your game region from the "SD Card" to the "Wii". (Twilight Hack USA)

Step 4: Insert the "Zelda Twilight Princess" Disc into the Wii?s DVD Drive. Connect a Nunchuk to the Wii Remote and "Start" the game.

Step 5: Load the first save slot.

Note: On the inner back of your game you should see the following text as "RVL-RZDE-0A-0".

Note: If you see the text ?RVL-RZDE-0A-2?, you must load the second save slot or else the game will freeze when you run backwards or talk to the standing man.

Step 6: Walk towards the man. Talk to him by pressing the "A" button.

Step 7: Follow the instructions shown on the screen.

THE HOMEBREW CHANNEL IS NOW INSTALLED

Part 2 - Wii Fix Guide

Step 1: Using "The Homebrew Channel", open "WAD Manager".

Step 2: Press "A" on the Wii Remote once.
The Wii should detect a SD Card.
Press "A" again to see a list of WADs on the SD Card.
Use the "D-Pad" to select "IOS16-64-v257-prod.wad".
Press "+" to install the WAD.
Once installed, press the "Home" button, to restart you Wii.

Step 3: Using "The Homebrew Channel", open ?Custom Manager".
Using the same method as in "Step 2", install the "cIOS_Fix.wad".
Once installed, press the "Home" button, to restart you Wii.

Step 4: Using the ?Homebrew Channel?, open ?IOS Downgrader?. Just follow the instructions on the screen and wait until it finishes installing the necessary IOSs.

Step 5: Using "The Homebrew Channel", open "Install Shop IOS51".
Use the "D-Pad" to select "Yes", and install "IOS51", by pressing "A".
Use the "D-Pad" to select "Yes", and install the IOS Patch, by pressing "A".
Use the "D-Pad" to select "No", and DO NOT install the "Wii Shop Channel".

Step 6: Using the ?Homebrew Channel?, open ?WAD Manager ?. Install ?WAD MANAGER 1.3?.

Step 7: Go back to the Wii Main Menu and click on the ?WAD Manager channel and install Wii Gator.

You should now have 2 extra channels on your Wii Menu that were not there before and you can now launch your backup games with WiiGator Channel (Wii main menu) or Wii Backup Loader (inside the homebrew channel).

Seems to me that you didn't install the cIOS.

http://www.iol.ie/~taz/backuplauncher0.3_gamma.zip

Download WiiGator's Backup Launcher (from the above link) and it should have a cIOS installer packed with it.

Try that and let me know how it goes.

Also of note: Some people (myself included) have some trouble with the WiFi in DVD Dumper. It's not uncommon for errors to occur at around 2GB or so. I have my Wii and my computer on wired connections and still have that happen a couple times before it dumps the whole ISO. I've only dumped one disk with SD, but that worked without a problem

MVGC thanks for your help but the cios that you say i need to download, is that for the wiigator backup launcher? Because if it is Im not having a problem with WiiGator. It plays all my games without a problem. I only had a problem with it when i downloaded the Whttp. That is why i am asking for help. How to get whttp to work with the instructions i followed above using 3.4 and wiigator 3..... Thanks

I'm sorry, I guess I don't quite understand your situation.

When you say you installed/used whttp, you mean the DVD Dumper, correct? If there is an app called whttp, I haven't heard of it and would suggest that you look into DVD Dumper.

Can you try loading the game again, and copy the error down? Also, check the compatibility list HERE if you haven't done so already.

You gave a lot of information about what you did, but not a whole lot about the problem you have...

I used whttpd for a while without issue, up until the new version of HBC came out, then I had nothing but issues. I since downloaded Waninkoko's DVD Dumper. It's very similar but is seems to work much better. At least I haven't had a single issue with it. Try it out. I downloaded it from this site, it's in Spanish but I imagine you can just follow the links. It does use a custom ISO249 I think so you'll have to install that. Good luck...

I'm still on 3.2 and I have a modchip so no loader. The download does not have the custom ios249 but i'm sure you can find it around.

I have 3.4, and have used DVD Dumper to dump 2 games over WiFi. I didn't follow the exact steps that you posted, but they're more or less irrelevant.

You're using the Backup Loader, so you should already have everything you need to install and use DVD Dumper (Homebrew Channel and cIOS)

Both johnfarm and I have said this already.

Keep in mind what I said in my fist post; the wifi method may take a few tries before it actually finishes.

Yes, make sure that it is in its own folder, so:

sdRoot:\apps\dvddumper\boot.dol

The dol being boot.dol is also important.

Like I said, you probably have IOS 249 already, since you can use the Backup Launcher. I'm not positive how you could check, other than trying to run the dumper.

Also, like I said before, the following link has a cIOS installer packed in with it.

Hi all, how do I fix this error?

"unhandled exception has occurred in your application If you click Continue, the application will ignore this error and attempt to continue. If you click Quit the application will close immediately. Arithmetic operation resulted in an overflow"

I get this while using RawDump2.0
It doesn't happen to all games only some, I'm not sure why.

MVGC......Great Help!!! I created a new folder within the apps folder (dvddumper), changed the files name to boot.dol and put it into the new dvddump folder i created and it works!! I will be testing it out this afternoon when i get home from work.

Two more questions......Is there a way to put a picture on the dvd app so it shows up when i open the homebrew channel? Cause its a boring tab that just says dvddumper. Maybe you know of a website that already has the pictures and i could just install the file in the app folder next to the dvddumper file so that itll show the picture in the homebrew browser.

Second questions...... What if any is the best dvd player that works with what i have? Remember i have 3.4 and i followed the october 23rd cios fix along with the TW hack. Thanks for all the help.

Of course there is a way to put a picture there. I don't have one for it, but all you need is a 128x48 .png in the folder with boot.dol. A similar idea goes for the description: you need meta.xml (copy it from another program, and edit in notepad)

I dont know about the best dvd player. I havent tested much there. MPlayerWii (I think thats the name) works, but it seemed a to be a bit choppy.

Take a look at this link, and try to learn to use Google for some of your problems ;)

The comment about Google wasn't meant to be mean. Up until your last question it was understandable that you would have to ask, despite the misunderstanding.

For the last one, however, Google-ing "error 10056" gave the page I linked as maybe the 3rd or 4th page down.

And I'm aware that they gave a lot of fixes, but that's the point. You can't expect to get an answer that is 100% correct when there are various things that could cause a problem. It's called troubleshooting; fixing a problem using various methods until something works, and if none of them do, THEN you ask if there are any other things to fix it while explaining what you've done.

I don't understand your last sentence, but you can use more than one forum at once... I have accounts on a huge number of forums at this point.

MVGC.....So i deleted dvd dumper 1.3 from my apps and installed 1.2 and that works. It didnt give me the 10056 error and made a perfect connection with my wifi network and computer.. I have 2 questions...

1. At the end of the dump (i left it over night) it gave me an error said it couldnt hear the line or something like that.. Any idea?

2. It did take 5-6 hours to dump zelda TP. Ive heard it only should take 2-3 hours. Is there anything i can do to speed this up? Could it be my computer? It was transfering between 200-300 max (usually around 235). Any ideas on what to do to make the transfer of the file faster?

Thanks for all your help.....Its has really helped alot! :-)

1) You'll have to be more specific about the error. I don't think I've seen anything about lines, though. If you get the error again the next time you dump a game, make sure you copy it as close as you can.

If the size is right, I wouldn't worry about it too much. You can check the correct size here: http://forums.afterdawn.com/thread_view.cfm/701082

2) That's about as fast as I've got over WiFi, I think. Maybe a little bit faster (350 or so). I was getting close to 500KB/s using a wired connection. You'll need an Ethernet to USB adapter and cables for that.

Basically, WiFi limitations. Maybe your router, maybe the adapter in your computer. There's no way to tell really.

yup the size was right even after the error message 4.37. I burned it onto a sony dvd+r and it loaded on my wii without any problems..... If i ever decide to dump games using this method again (probably not because it takes to darn long)i will write down the exact error message i get. Thanks for your help.

And as far as the slow problem i think its a mix of things. i have an at&t modem box (i think thats what they are called) and a linksys router plus my computer is 2 years old and kinda slow so it might just be all three things thats causing the slow dump.

Glad to hear it worked out! Just a heads up though, using an SD card or USB drive will take about as long (in your case). And unless you have either with over 4GB capacity, you'll have to be around to take the ISO part off the device (which you will then have to combine - check THIS THREAD for more info on that). At least with WiFi you can leave it on overnight ;)

Thanks for that link.....Ive read that before (actually the same link). But im not interested in dumping or burning games. I just wanted to do it so that i could say i knew how to do it(braging rights). there is a guy here in LA that charges 3 bucks for any game. Of course you have to legally own the game cause otherwise it would be pirating and of course thats illegal. So when i need any backup game i just call him. He burns them on sony which is not the best dvd-r but it works. And for 3 dollars.....You really cant beat that. I rather pay that then let my wii on all night dumping a game.
