Any reason not to buy Swap Magic 3.8 ?

Is there some reason not to get SM 3.8 ?
or
should I get 3.6 ?

I seen what looked like a code converter for the cheat codes.
Assuming that works I was thinking of getting 3.8 and a flip top.

Dont think I want to do mod chip, not because I cant solder just dont want to get that involved right now.

Supposedly the only difference of the 3.6 and 3.8 is the Coder part with codes.

I had 3.8 and played all games with no issues.
