ps2 just randomly stops reading

since last year after i got my ps2 slim lens replaced. the problem is that my ps2 just randomly stops reading then when i restart it and remove and insert the disc it works again. is my lens weak or fake

-can i play burned games at 4x speed under this condition that would nót fry my lens

-another Q which burning speed should i consider the write speed or write rate because i burned a game at 4x speed and the write rate is 2x
so would the speed be 4x or 2x

recommended writing speed with dvd-r's is 4x and cd-r's 8x!

What version PS2 do you have?

What brand of discs are you using?

It depends upon your burner capabilities as to why its burning at 2x when you select 4x speed and not all of the data may write at 4x.

Did you try cleaning your lens. Use a q-tip and rubbing alcohol.
