Best method for chapters with an divx or wmv video?

I've been streaming videos on my PC, to TV from my Xbox 360 via Tversity. Once in a while, I'll run into a video that won't let me pause for more than 5 seconds or fast forward/rewind for more than 1 second. This results in me having to restart the video, and if I'm pretty far into the movie, it'll suck. So, I was wondering if somehow I could setup some chapter's, it'd be easier to get to where I was at.

Anyways, would just splitting the movie into parts be the best method? Or is there a better and/or quicker way to doing this?



And on a side note, once in a while I convert the video to divx or wmv, because of subtitles...etc. And I still can't fast forward/rewind without needing to restart it. What am I doing wrong?
