quick question before i flash my drive

my xbox was preflashed when i brought it
but it appears it has a liteon drive that was replaced with a sammy

when i loaded it up in jungleflasher it says it is samsung firmware to be spoofed to PLDS DG-16D2S (i didnt edit anything)

is this ok or do i need to do something special?

Are you trying to upgrade the firmware on it? Only problem is when a drive is spoofed as a Lite-ON, it is easily detectable on Live. There are hidden Lite-ON commands that other drives wouldn't respond to.

yeah im upgrading it to 1.51

drive was preflashed like this already

Go ahead and tick the advanced view and look at the serial tab. I'm betting all that data is missing. I am under the impression iXtreme 1.5 and above will cater for the hidden Lite-ON commands, but if MS were to change their methods and check for serial data... this drive would throw a red flag.

If you were to get a Lite-ON drive, you could rebuild the serial data and flash it with ix 1.51 with all the proper data. That is what I would do but that is entirely up to you.

yeah you were right about the serial thing
but as i only go on live to buy stuff i should be ok for now

Live is Live... MS can query the drive any time your ethernet cable is plugged in from what I understand.

leerage had it right, buy a liteon and use DSDB fixer or JF to add the hardware serials. Then from MS standpoint you will have a legitimate drive.

eh its been fine till now and i dont have ethernet plugged in usually so i should be ok
