Well here is my situation. I have the e74 error and my xbox won't work anymore. From my understanding e74 isn't part of the warranty so should i just lie and say i have the 3rrod or just tell the truth ? Did anyone send back a flashed e74 xbox and get it back cured? Thanks in advance
i believe ms checks for rrod upon receiving the console so i wouldnt try to send it in with the e74. i have read here though, that people do the towel trick to induce a rrod and then send it in. worth a shot i guess since its messed up already.
if microsoft found out that its a flased xbox with an e74 error will they keep it or just send it back to me? If anything ima see if i can do the x clamp fix but first i want to try my chances by sending it back and see if they fix my xbox for free
Come talk with us on efnet at #elitemods !!! or just click ME
ALSO, DO NOT SEND ME MESSAGES ON LIVE REGARDING MODDING CONSOLES, OR HOW I PLAYED A CERTAIN GAME EARLY. I WILL NOT RESPOND. I WILL INSTEAD DELETE YOUR MESSAGE, AND BLOCK ALL COMMUNICATION FROM YOU. JUST SEND ME A PM ON HERE.
i dont think they will charge you for return shipping if it is still under warranty and you have a vaild claim. They will however not fix it and send it back to you, they wont keep it! I would do as the user above said and if it has a good sticker, case, ect. fry it and make it RROD. Then they HAVE to fix it.
Well i did the towel trick and my xbox started working for 3 days .... then it went back to an e74. So should i keep doing the towel trick until it get the rrod? Thanks everyone again for the help my xbox looks unmodded except the warrranty sticker isn't as good as new but i think its worth a shot since i heard stories of people sending in modded xboxs with no sticker and have it fixed.

E74 is now covered under 3 year warranty... but try taking it back to place where you bought it from, if it's under a year old then they'll usually refund or replace... i did that for my second 360. When i had e74 the first time (was not covered in 3 year warranty) i pulled the power adapter out of the 360 slightly, the reduced power often induces the 3 rrod temporarily, then take a few pics of this (and write on the back explaining that it changes betweens 3 rrod and 1) send the console along with to pics to ms... it worked for me and my friend... i guess the guys at the repair depot are pretty nice.
