psp-2000 firmware???

Hi,

I was thinking of buying an second hand psp-2000 and getting it flashed since psp-3000 doesn't seem to be hack-able anytime soon. but i was wondering, does the firmware of the psp-2000 matter when it is flashed? for example, say that the psp-2000 i get has a firmware version of 5.02 (one of the latest firmwares released), would that prevent the psp from been flashed? if so, what firmware version'd psp should i be looking for?
also, is there a way of telling if a psp-2000 has a TA-90v2 motherboard or the original one? since the TA-90v2 is unhackable atm

and one more thing, whats the maximum capcity memory stick i can use in a psp-2000?

On the memory cards - I use a 32GB (well 2x16GB SD's in a dual adapter) that is the maximum at the moment.

No easy way to tell if a 2000 is hackable (as its just down to the motherboard) but if it was originally purchased prior to Oct last year it should be fine. The firmware does not matter, just the motherboard.

initial firmware does matter. anything 4.01+ out of the box is unflashable as they have the ta-088v3.

i'd try to find out as much information before buying.

Yes out of the box it does - however if he is buying second hand it does not, he will have no idea what it was out of the box. Hence buy one at least 6 months old.
