ps2 hdd not working.

Hi I just bought a used "fat" ps2 so I could use my network adapter and hard drive (Both of them are official Sony brand).

The problem is the hdd doesn't work in the ps2 I just bought but it does work in my old SCPH-30001 (dead dvd drive) ps2 the one I just bought is a SCPH-50001. I don't think the drive is even getting power. I tried cleaning the connector with a soft brush with no luck. the dvd drive works great in the SCPH-50001 system though.

I would appreciate any help you guys could offer.
