Okay here is the problem. Right now i have a 3.71 CFW on my sony psp slim. Now i really want to update it to a 5.00CFW, since there are some certain games i want to play that requires a 5.00CFW. A game like Rival schools which is a PS1 game which has been convertered to play on the psp Slim, a PSX/PSP game. So anyways i updated my current 3.71 CFW to the 5.00CFW, i did everything right, like changing the name of the EBOOT.PBP file into the 500.PBP an then moved it to the 5.00CFW folder, etc. I an went through all the steps properly when i dragged the file into my psp slim, into the game folder. I agree to all the terms an such, and the updated process started now right on 99% it would stall from quite sometime, and the outta no where i would get an error an my psp slim would end up bricking. Good thing i have a pandora battery, and a magic stick to fix it.
Now i though i needed to update my current 3.71 CFW M33 to a 3.80 or a 3.90 cause i assumed that it was a big jump of an update form a 3.71 to a 5.00. So i did end up tring to update my 3.71 CFW to a 3.80CFW, but i got the same results, at 99% it would still an AGAIN brick my psp slim. SO can ANYONE PLEASE help me out there, an let me know what exactly i am doing wrong here.
try formatting your flash1 and resetting your settings in the recovert menu under advanced (hold r trigger and reset psp) or backup and format your card, may even want to try another memory stick and make it a magic memory stick with a program like psp grader v008
