ok, ive got a wiikey v2 installed on my wii. i only use the console to play backup games, not homebrew or anything else.
im wondering if its safe to update to v4 on my wii, will it effect me playing wii games.
also, im not sure how to update my wiikey v2, i think i need to update, becuase my wii wont play super smash even though it says v2 can buy it does play Mario kart
ive just found out i have firmware v3.3e installed too
*Sigh* If you'd read the thread on 4.0 you would know that it only effects homebrew, not modchips. No update to date has effected modchips. That said, there is no reason to update yet, so I would wait on that.
As for why your smash bros game wont play, it could be any number of reasons. A bad burn, crappy media, wrong region game, trucha-signed disk. Could be any number of these or other reasons. Need more info to diagnose it. Your modchip isnt the problem though.
