Okay, so I´ve spent like 20 hours trying to get FMCB to my slim PS2 SCPH-90004 V18 (NO MODCHIP OR ANY DISC). So far I´ve had bad luck with every dam,n aspect in the process, but finally I got this far:

1) Blocked the first sensor and the disc brake (seems 90004 doesn´t have the third at all, just as the silver model)

2) Bought 007 AUF and made a backup disc putting the ulaunch.elf there as driving.elf and played to the 2nd level.

3) Put FMCB to an USB drive (first formatted it to FAT32)

So everything is ok until here, I get to the ulaunch v4.39 screen, select mass->free_mcboot.elf, but the install won´t start! And funny is, that the older version I try, the longer I get:

FMCB 1.8b/1.8 : Freezes straight to the "Loading..." screen.
FMCB 1.7 : I get to the fmcb screen but freezes to "Detecting MC".
FMCB 1.6 : "Detecting MC" -> "Install start!" -> freeze.
FMCB 1.5 : The same as 1.6.

Could this be my memory card: "Max Memory 16mb"??? Or what is wrong??

I tried to run the install with burning it to a CD-R according to the tutorial but when I swap the disc at the ulaunch, it just spins too slowly and ps doesn´t read it (tried also with CD-RW and DVD-R)

What brand of usb flash drive are you using.

You have the FREE_MCBOOT.ELF in the ROOT Of the USB drive.

Using older fmcb make no difference. Stick with the 1.8

It could very well be the 16mb memory card. It depends if thats the one that needed a cd or not I think.

The 8mb ,32 and 64 mb work fine I know.

It´s Kingston Datatraveler. I don´t think the USB is the problem, because I can access to it via ulaunch with no problems. It must be the memorycard, so would the original Sony 8mb be my best bet??
