Connecting PSP to PC

I found my old PSP fat and was deciding to mod it, but it has a cracked screen and I can't see a thing. Anyways I also found a USB cord that fits into the PSP I tried connecting the PSP to the computer, but nothing happens. Do I have to buy something to connect my PSP or is there something wrong?

when u plug it into the computer, are in the USB Connection thing in the XMB?

There is an option, if you have previously select the automatically connect option, if your computer is on, the psp is on, when you connect the cable the computer will see the PSP.

If this is not on then it will not automatically select, as you have no screen, connect the cable to the psp (with the psp on) use the left arrow button until there are no more clicks, then press the up arrow till there are no more clicks.

To get into usb mode click the down arrow once and then press X, after a few seconds the computer should see the PSP
